Digital Signs of Cheating

Back in the day, a cheater had to be very careful about making contact with his or her secret lover.

From whispered conversations on the kitchen phone to quick trips to the gas station where he could use the payphone, a cheater had to be a lot sneakier.

Today, with the advances in digital communications, it is a lot easier to make a cellphone call from anywhere, shoot an email or text message, leaving the cheater’s true partner almost completely in the dark.

One thing that never changes, though, is that cheaters always leave signs. How can you tell if your spouse is communicating with a secret lover? Here are a few ideas.

1. Computer usage. If your spouse is suddenly and unexplainably spending more time online, especially late at night, early in the morning, or other times when you are not around, that could be an indication she is trying to hide something.

Depending on how sophisticated she is, you may be able to simply check your browser history to see where she has been. Many people may know to delete that, but there are programs you can install that will monitor and record every keystroke on a given computer. These are impossible for even advanced computer users to detect.

2. Cell phone usage. If your partner is keeping a closer eye on the cell phone than in the past, he may be trying to stop you from checking his call logs. If you can get a hold of the thing, and the records haven’t been deleted, you can see who he has been calling and how long they have talked. Check address books as well.

3. Never forget the old fashioned cheating detection methods. Quick hangups, either on land lines or cell phones, suddenly changing what he or she is doing when you walk in the room, etc.

Check land line phone records for calls you don’t recognize. If you see calls to a secret lover on there, not only are you with a cheater, you’re with a moron!

Always be aware of what he or she is doing (and try to be aware in a non-stalker kind of way) and trust your instincts. If you think you may be dealing with infidelity, gather some facts before you confront.
